I know, I know, I know .. it's a tad late ... life happened .. as it does and I confess I 'may' have dragged my feet a bit catching up on a myriad of other tasks. But here I am with the bits and bobs of news and pics from our May 8th sewing day at the Hall in downtown Hoddles Creek.
Present on the day we had Annette, Jenny, Deborah, Yvonne, Christine, Joanne, Jennifer, Nina, Impi, Sheryl and Mel ... plus yours truly.
First pics taken were from a vibrant donation of themed novelty print fabrics gifted to us by Julie Sutherland. Julie and I go back many years to high school days and it was lovely to be able to be sent a parcel of cheerful fabrics which we will have fun incorporating into cheerful quilts for young children. Many thanks Julie.
Next ... from the Boronia Church of Christ ... we received from Robyn a wonderful batch of 10 quilts to add to our gifting 'stash' ... how very kind and please thank all involved.
Also from Boronia Church Of Christ, this time from Anna .. there was a wonderful donation of fabrics and 5 quilt tops. Thank you so very much Anna ... we will have much fun putting this gifting to good use. Love the fabrics ... particularly the one incorporated into a quilt below. How gorgeously 'vintage' .... adorable.
Whilst I was busy trying to get my head around joining two ends of a quilt binding together without losing the plot or my patience ... Joanne kindly grabbed the camera and captured a few shots on the day ... many thanks Joanne :)
'Moi' ... trying to not look frazzled.
Christine and Annette grabbing a quick bite of lunch.
Christine trimming a quilted top for binding ...
Yvonne demonstrating the fine art and intricacies of our quilting machine ..
I snatched the camera back to capture the lovely Joanne ..
Nina and Jennifer in our hand sewing corner .....
Jenny and Annette sorting fabrics ...
Yvonne ... busy, busy, busy ...
Elaine, one of our newest members ... picking up or dropping off ... my amnesia has kicked in 'facepalm' moment .. ooops.
And that wraps up all the Gathering Day news/pics for this edition of our Blog. For more detailed updates I invite you to wander over to our website, where Jenny keeps us regularly updated on the quilt gifting details and the organisations that we are partnering with right now. She also has updates on our appearances at Markets where Deborah fundraises for batting thru the sale of quilts and other items.
We meet again at Hoddles Creek on Saturday June 12th .... and don't forget our 'Working Days'... details of which are in Jennys Newsletter on the website.
I'll pop our regular Links below and look forward to sharing with you again in June .....
Blessings
Susan
