And it looks like 'Rainy Days' are going to be the order of the day in more ways than one ... but ..... QFO has a plan and it is set out below .. so you will still all be able to work on achieving fabric hugs .. from the comfort of your own home turf in the interim. Please read on:
Due to Stage Three restrictions enacted by the Victorian Government on March 30th, QFO operations at the Hall, will be postponed until further notice. We will each keep stitching away at our respective homes, whilst we look forward to gathering again and attending the Hall when this challenging time has passed.
We will be adding some new patterns and projects to our website over the coming weeks; our Facebook page will also be updated in the interim to give you some inspiration! You can send your own messages and pictures to us via the visitor posts section on our Facebook page or add into the comment section of the pinned post at the top of the page. Susan is also going to continue updating this Blog, anyone is more than welcome to send a picture or two accompanied with a few lines describing what you are creating during this time. The pictures will need to be in jpeg format to be added, you can send them to our [email protected] email and we will do our best to ensure Susan receives them. So keep an eye out and hopefully you can find some inspiration.
We WERE planning a special project for our next Gathering Day on Easter Saturday – the ‘Half Square Triangles in a Diamond’ quilt. As we are no longer able to gather together, perhaps you’d like to have a look at this - the pattern for this quilt is on our website at https://www.quiltsfororphans.org/quilt-sizes
Jenny had the foresight to take home fabric from the Hall to make up some kits. She has some pretty baby-type fabric that was donated by Lillian. These kits will be to make the special size ‘Life’s Little Treasures’ quilts, which we will be gifting to this organisation. The LLT quilts are a bit different in size – 32 inches by 48 inches. Jenny has made up a couple of patterns to the correct size and once they are checked they will be available on our website too, if you would like to make some tops for them.
If you have queries about the patterns, please contact Jenny at [email protected] or if you have any other enquiries they can be directed to Deb Woodward at the same email address.
Be assured we are still here working behind the scenes from our homes, preparing kits and making plans to make sure we can hit the ground running, as soon as we are through these uncertain times.

Great update, Susan!
I'm sure we'll all be busy at home making quilt tops and finishing off UFOs!
