Just a quick update ... with pictures taken recently at the Barn ... of the goodies that will be bound for China and Ethiopia VERY soon!!
I headed over to the barn a week or so back, camera in hand, to capture for posterity all the stitchings that had been made for the International China Concern (ICC) Home by our willing hands. It looked more than a little impressive when laid out on display, and I look forward to seeing and sharing some pictures when they are all in use in the Childrens Home there.
A selection of knitted goodies which will soon be keeping the babies extra snuggly ....
Some of the wall hangings which will soon brighten the rooms at the Home ...
How good are these rooms going to look? A little bit of binding to finish them off ....:)
... and on these too ... and ...
....... very soon these too will be delighting the young ones in China ....
We also created cot sheet sets in a variety of pastel shades ... as well as 'Boomerang' pillowslips ..
And of course the beanbags and liners .... which made extremely good use of our furnishing fabrics.
The applique work on these beanbags will certainly keep the attention of the little ones ...
And the cute bear is sitting atop the curtains for the the rooms .... 11 rooms ... 13 windows all up ....!!
Now on to what will shortly be heading to Ethiopia ... to the Lola orphanage ...
A selection of these quilts will soon be comforting the little ones ... aged from infants upwards ...
In addition ... each child in the Lola home will recieve a small knitted bear made by one of our quilters Kay ... which will also brighten their day.
So, all in all, we have been extremely busy. And as I mentioned earlier, I look forward to being able to share with you the pictures from both these places when our gifts are distributed among the babies and small children so far away.
So, until my NEXT Blog update, which will take place soon after our next get-together this coming Saturday .. May 12th.
Lunch theme will be .... Italian ... and I can't wait!!!! Bellissimo .... break out the garlic bread!!!
